Albert Pike

Albert Pike (December 29,1809-April 2,1891) was an influential figure in Freemasonry in the United States of America.He served as Sovereign Grand Commander of the Supreme Council of the Scottish Rite,Southern Jurisdiction from 1859 until his death.

In the U.S. Civil War he fought for the rebellious Confederacy and rose to Brigadier General,and after the war he was rumored to be sympathetic to the racist Ku Klux Klan.

He wrote numerous Masonic books,most prominently Morals and Dogma etext here.
