Greek Goddess of love and fertility, corresponds to the Roman Venus. Born from the union of Uranus' blood with the waters of the Mediterranean, she emerged from the sea. She was married by Zeus' order to Hephaestus but cheated on him with Ares and many others. Dolphins and roses were sacred to Aphrodite.
