Israel-Lebanon conflict

On 17 July, during the dramatic Israel-Lebanon conflict, a testimony was given and an appeal was made by a Lebanese citizen to the students of Rosicrucian teachings worldwide [1] -- which can also be seen as extensible to all the brothers in the 'Craft/Tekton' [2] and to all individuals of good will [3] -- in order to unite efforts for the harmony to be restored soon in the entire Levant region and to all our fellow man living these hours of agony, that are causing suffering and mourning (The Purpose of War and Our Attitude Toward It -- The Philosophy of War).

In respect to the origin of the appeal [Lebanon] and the ancient sensitive religious issues and wounds involved, it becomes reasonable to assume that the international community, including the United States and the United Nations, could gather a consensual voice and will in order to request diplomatic mediation/Peace process to be conducted in the fraternal and service organization g+m+e+y+tm m+wHl+f+tm m+n+ m+s+y+hky+y+n+ m+t+c+w+3+ f+y+n+ neutral and holy grounds of Mount Ecclesia.

TANTRIC PRACTICE A Personal Overview Lecture by Phil Hine

7.15 for 7.30 start, Treadwells Bookshop, London

Phil Hine is famed as a in the occult world as chaos magician and author. Tonight he presents a personal overview of contemporary Western Tantric practice. Less known, though, is the fact that he has been practising a form of hybridised tantra for over twenty years.

Looking at tantra's structures and tenets, he reviews some of the common misconceptions that have grown up around this esoteric discipline. In doing so, he presents some perspectives for attempting to discover "what" Tantra consists of.

Phil Hine is the author of Condensed Chaos and Prime Chaos, and he also edited the monthly magazine Pagan News for five years. He has been off the scene for several years, and here makes a return to public speaking.

The lecture followed by a round-table discussion, during which all are encourage to contribute, as in a traditional 'salon des idees'. Admission is ½5.00. Arrive 7.15 for 7.30 start

Rosicrucians comment on mysterious ancient vase

  • Lisa Schwappach-Shirriff, curator of the Rosicrucian Egyptian Museum of AMORC comments on the discoveries of Susan Walker who works at Ashmolean Museum at Oxford. Walker says she discovered a vase showing Cleopatra seducing the Roman general Antony. Shirriff commented that there are only seven identified ancient images of Cleopatra, all of them made of stone, but the vase is made from glass. Carbon dating is difficult to be performed on the particular vase without damaging it and the scholars have different views regarding its dating. Shirriff suggests that the vase is probably ancient but because of lack of proper archaeological data she cannot prove or disprove Walker's theory, which she described as an "interesting point of view". discovery.com
