Invisibles Pantheon/Archetype
From SourceryForge
A basic pantheon (or at least a list of archetypes) of Invisibles characters. Modify, add, delete as you see fit - this is VERY rough and spur-of-the-moment.
The characters and Invisibles are copyright Grant Morrison.
- Barbelith
- "Father/Son" - both Godhead and avatar of the Godhead, similar to Christ and the Dying God in that it sacrifices itself in order to disseminate the Godhead. entrance/exit of the space/time that we are aware of.
- King Mob
- A hunter or warrior figure, the most successful on the material plane but also the one with the most change to undergo because of that success.
- Dane McGowan
- A neophyte and initiate, for whom the initiation never stops. "Life is education to the last drop, and perhaps beyond." A figure of constant expansion.
- Ragged Robin
- A redheaded woman and witch archetype. Adept in subtle energies and contact with 'other' beings (other, in her case, being elsewhere in time rather than space).
- Lord Fanny
- The hermaphrodite (not a literal one), freely walking between planes of reality and interacting with pure information (magic mirror).
- Boy
- Boy is purely material but able to understand the greater whole through the material veil. Able to perceive the magic in the surrounding world and flow with it, if not directly manipulate it. She realizes that the world can be changed from within not from without.
- Mister Six
- Fluid, almost a microcosm of the supercontext. A master/trickster figure, which is a very powerful combination.
- Mason Lang
- A individual that has been elightened but refuses to lose what is ultimatly unimportant. That of his wealth though he wants to assist that in which he believes he can not have.
- The Chessplayer/Satan
- An inverse figure to Barbelith, equally a manifestation of the Godhead, but acting towards everything that Barbelith is not. Together they form a whole.
- Quimper
- Golem? The distorted image of a sprite.
- Sir Miles
- The inverse of KM, equally matter-bound and adept at the material plane, also needing to change, but doing so in an ever-tightening spiral that is winding up on itself. KM is, ultimately expanding; Sir Miles is contracting.
- Colonel Friday
- A demonic figure, a possessed being functioning almost solely for the Outer Church.
That's all I've got for now...
