Description

Rider Waite Deck

A older man sits on a throne facing to our left. He wears a yellow robe with black Salamanders on it, they are in a circle, biting their own tail. Another Salamander is on the ground in front of him. His throne also has the same Salamander design and also black lions. He holds a leafy staff in his right hand. Behind him is blue sky.

Meanings

Ambition The Force of Volition

The salamander is the companion of the King of Wands. It is, in legend, a creature which can walk through fire without being burned. Sometimes this may be an attribute needed by the those close to the King of Wands. Fragile, volatile types will soon be driven away or burned up.
