The passage in the Gospel of John where Jesus deals with an adulterous woman and those who wish to stone her is known as the Pericope Adulterae.

Those who wish to emphasize the importance of not holding oneself above sinners dwell on the admonition "Let he who is without sin among you cast the first stone",while those who feel that this appeals to letting people do as they please unpunished point to what Jesus tells the woman,"go and sin no more" (emphasis added).
