SourceryForge talk:About
From SourceryForge
Is the word "Sorcery" in this wiki's name intentionally spelled incorrectly? I got here from a link in the wiki at c2.com, which is mostly about programming, so I assumed it was a pun on "source code", but that doesn't appear to be the case.
- There's a well known open source software site called http://sourceforge.net this site, however, is a pun on the name. It is intended as a place where people can develop esoteric ideas through collaberation. Kinda open source concepts applied to the occult. I'm aware that occult means 'hidden'. - And aside from sourceforge, I really thought that was about Terry Pratchett. He has written a humorous book called Sourcery, and it's about an uber magickian, a source of magick LOL Eusebia 13:59, 14 Dec 2005 (GMT)

I am protecting the main article, because it attracts lots of spam. Sorry for the inconvenience. If you have complaints against this, or want it changed, please leave me a note on my talk page, then i'll unprotect it. I will unprotect the article anyway when the spam problem is solved, Eusebia 13:59, 14 Dec 2005 (GMT)
- Not a bad idea, Eusebia. Though I'm not sure that the spam problem will ever really be solved. D'ya think they're using a bot? --Korihor 15:53, 14 Dec 2005 (GMT)
- Yes, i think you are right about the spam. They may be using abot, but most probably not without human supervision. Have you noticed how fast they reacted when i started blocking users? now they use every IP only once or twice. I think they might be using a bot-net. I wouldn't be upset so much about penis enlargement spam or somesuch, but the pill traders they advertise are clearly illegal where i live. I don't know about the U.S, but i don't like this at all. Call me paranoid, but i don't think that it is a good idea to discuss them where they can read it. I've put an email adress into my preferences, in case anyone wants to reach me. May be the best thing we can do is not get upset, write good articles and fill this place with life,Eusebia 23:20, 14 Dec 2005 (GMT)
- So the article is protected...that means I couldn't erase all the junk-pharma links that piled in after "Do what thou wilt"!--Louis E./le@put.com/12.144.5.2 03:45, 11 October 2006 (BST)
- Thanks for pointing this out!! I removed the spam and unprotected the article. I really don't know how i could overlook that. Sorry! Eusebia 13:53, 11 October 2006 (BST)
